Santa brought the boys their very own RSV virus and ear infections on Christmas morning!! The poor babies woke up coughing and so stuffy! They were little troopers though and made it through the day with only a bit of fussiness in the early evening.
They sleep uninterrupted from 7-7 every night but that night both of them were up coughing and whimpering periodically. No crazy crying...just sad whimpering...it was awful. We were so scared to go to bed and not watch them every minute. We put the humidifier on, put a wedge under the sheet to raise their heads, gave them Tylenol and sucked their little noses out...and did alot of cuddling.
We took them to the pediatrician the next day and she concluded that they had RSV. Parker had a double ear infection with RSV and Chase had one ear infection and a milder case of RSV. They gave the boys breathing treatments at the office and sent us home with an RX for Albuterol and a nebulizer.
Well, it's been a week of breathing treatments every few hours and lots of worrying but they are finally better. Thank God!
Oh no ... poor babies -and you guys worrying about them. I can imagine how how hard the last week has been for you all. I hope they are on the mend now and you all are catching up on sleep. What troopers!!

ReplyDeleteIts really a bad feeling to see young ones suffer.
ReplyDeleteOh no...those poor babies. That breaks my heart. I hope things are better now. You probably need some sleep. I don't know how you have the energy to blog! Thanks for the sweet comments on my new year post honey. You are too kind. Hope you are all doing better this weekend. Kori xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh no! It looks like they didn't mind the breathing treatments too much?? The first time we did it with our kids...they didn't look as calm as your group. I'm glad they are better! The are growing so fast!
ReplyDeleteBTW-I liked your tip on getting one post to count for 2 days! :)
Poor sweet babies! But not many people can make oxygen masks look that darn cute! :)
ReplyDeletePoor little babies! I'm so sad to hear that they were sick over the holiday. I hope they are feeling much, much, much better.
ReplyDeleteMy twins had RSV at 2 and 3 weeks old and were in the NICU. I'm glad you didn't have to deal with that. They look like they tolerated the neb treatments well. Hope they are feeling better!
